I refer to the general change in public interpretation of the post from "a bit silly and idiosyncratic" to "trolling", I just put your name there as the champion of the latter. That change to the sentiment regarding the context and is damn annoying.

Borderline 'trollishness' can be the most annoying kind. Far easier to end up collateral damage at the fringes.

Well to be fair, I think the nature of the post has changed. I initially took it as "a bit silly and idiosyncratic", or, more accurately, "Will's being crazy again", but when he started trolling in the comments, that's when I made my comment. It started out as... well... I don't know. But it's turned into simple fishing for negative attention.

This post is for sacrificing my credibility!

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Don't worry, there won't be future posts like this, so you don't have to delete my LessWrong account, and anyway I could make another, and another.

But since you've dared to read this far:

Credibility. Should you maximize it, or minimize it? Have I made an error?

Discuss.

Don't be shallow, don't just consider the obvious points. Consider that I've thought about this for many, many hours, and that you don't have any privileged information. Whence our disagreement, if one exists?
