Yudkowsky's Law (or Yudkowsky's Rule of Skynet Analogies), so named for Eliezer Yudkowsky, is an Internet adage asserting that "As a discussion about AI (Artificial General Intelligence) grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Skynet or Paperclip maximizers approaches 1" - that is, if a conversation about artificial or machine intelligences continues for long enough, regardless of venue or scope, someone will eventually bring up Unfriendly artificial intelligence.
Coined in 2016 during a Less Wrong Australia online hangout (during which said law proved its efficacy), the term is expected to gain wide use as the Singularity approaches.
