Intelligence as meaning linkages: The mycelial model of cognition

What is intelligence, really? I want to suggest that we've been asking the wrong question. When we ask 'why does AI appear intelligent?', we tend to reach for logical structure — architecture, computation, pattern recognition. But I think this is a mistake.
