Not to disparage this or to "what about": I am interested in the results of this research when applied to American social sites. I believe similar questioning should be levied at them.
Are they also distributing propaganda and if so, whose? Is it okay for their users to be influenced by that propaganda? Are there American interests symmetrical to CCP's interests?
If 170 million Americans change their stance on American interests are the interests still American?
It's not so infrequently I read of Facebook, X, Instagram manipulating users, if not for political ends then for the companies' own interests. Is that permissible? Why?
