I'm personally glad for the distinction. Holly makes a great member, and a poor diplomat. She has tarnished the movements reputation, and put people off from joining.
From personal experience (and I've spoken to quite a few with similar thoughts!) I was concerned about joining Pause AI UK because as a passersby not deep in the weeds, I thought Holly's approach was endorsed by Pause AI.
I thought it was a poor approach to collaborating on an international treaty, and the hostility made me very uncomfortable about joining and saying "I'm part of that", and so ... (read more)
