Posts or comments that create an obligation to respond are directly incentivized by the ad-based business model currently held by many social media companies for the simple reason that more engagement = more money.
How do you differentiate between a post in which we're obligated to respond to protect our social currency vs a post where we feel an urge to respond to defend something else, like ideology or tribe?
Can the obligation to respond to a comment be applied to audience members beyond OP? Perhaps this is my ideology or tribal distinction from above
