Learned pain as a leading cause of chronic pain
bezel Philly5mo20

I found this post fascinating and I have some subjective experiences that you might find of note:

  1. I've had quite bad oral health in the past and dealt with many cavities abscesses, etc. On numerous occasions, I had toothaches so bad they drove me to essentially whimper and cry. But then I took some Xanax as a last resort and the pain literally vanished, which is odd until you read your post.
  2. Another time, I consumed Xanax that had been (unbeknownst to me) laced with fentanyl  and  caused me to overdose. The immediate effect of this was to drop the cigarette I was smoking into my lap, after it had burned a big hole in the fingers that were holding it.  Now on my lap and burning through my jeans, it remained there for presumably hours and proceeded to burn a hole about 1.5 to 2 inches deep and about the size of a quarter in circumference, into my thigh. Finally, a good Samaritan saw the spray-paint cans in my back seat and identified me as a  fellow artist, so he decided to help me and somehow was able to wake me out of a comatose state. Never once did the injuries to my finger or thigh 'hurt'' besides some very light warmth when I would clean them out with peroxide. I was on Xanax this entire time.
  3. I quit taking Xanax almost 3 years ago and the single most prevalent change in my life hasn't  been positive, it has been the crippling back pain I've developed.
