I'm not really surprised, I've got an even worse input from my peers (I'm a PhD student) and they think AI is nothing more than a tool, I tried to have a conversation with them about how it already reached crazy progress in the last few months and once it reaches a certain place, it will seem like it moved from 0 to 100 which is too late bu then. We are talking about a new species. But they just laughed at me.
