In the same way that "Freedom" or "Rights" carries a lot of weight for an "American", a google search will tend to fail to capture the dimensionality and ~heft of the term. We usually internalize these things osmotically/culturally, through media, social interactions, etc.
I'll add a smorgasbord of concepts that are significantly meaning-loaded in a way that east-west culture gaps can be prominent and difficult to bridge. I believe when researching China, keeping these concepts in mind will likely be informative.
