My personal theory, based on personal observation, is that it does not “spread,” and no one “catches” it. The reason it appears that it is spreading is because a group of people are often exposed to the same environment. So how do we know what I am saying is true? Well, take a person who’s ill and expose them to healthy people in a healthy environment, ( not the other way around) and often they do not fall ill. I believe experiments have been done in animals and humans along the lines of what I just mentioned. While viruses/bacteria are certainly involved, they come at a later stage.
