I haven't found a method for getting stuff written quickly. I also find it impossible to work with outlines. Here's why: at the outset, I only have a vague idea of what I want to write. I refine my thoughts through the act of writing; as I write, my own thinking get clearer, and I pull in quotes from sources that tend to nudge the narrative in new or interesting directions.
