This is a very relatable feeling, but I think you're misattributing the reasoning behind it. There's no need to conflate your feelings about the common man in theory with how you actually interact with them in the real world. Whether or not human beings average out to being worth existing is a completely different question than whether or not you would personally enjoy the experience of talking to them.
