All this is true in the wider light of history, but I don't discount the possibility that Black African enslaved persons had a tendency towards a genetic advantage in resisting certain diseases such as yellow fever, endemic in both parts of Africa and the Caribbean (by auchtchony or transference), thus ironically encouraging an almost exclusive Black African-based slavery which then acquired a sort of biologically logical and hence economically rational life of its own in places like French Haiti (Saint Domingue).
