Only tangentially relevant but had a discussion earlier today in which it was pointed out that spaced repetition learning like Anki decks are always miserable since you are constantly exposed to the things you are bad at and rarely see the items that are easy for you. More generally you might observe that it always feels like you suck at things you are trying to improve at because you are (presumably, ideally) challenging yourself.

If the Boubas have an internally consistent definition then the Kikis are right to make them produce it so that a productive conversation can be had, the Kikis would no doubt readily supply their own if asked. I do not understand the instinct to suggest the Kikis are doing something not on the level here, productive discussions require work and sometimes rigor from both participants. If the Boubas are incapable or unwilling of doing their part it is a bit silly to blame the Kikis for not doing it for them.
If you are imagining that the Boubas do produce an internally consistent definition and then the conversation devolves into whose is "right" then I would agree that both parties are foolish in that instance.
Another point on your last sentence: in a near or post AGI world one might think that the value of the type of knowledge work (pure design as opposed to manufacturing) Nvidia does might start trending towards zero as it becomes easier for anyone with equal compute access to replicate. Not sure if it will be possible to maintain a moat on the basis of quality in software/hardware design in such a world.
Even if one accepts the premise that the purpose is not to educate children the education clearly still occurs and its effectiveness varries by school depending on a number of variables, many of which are controllable. Given that, you can increase how much the children learn without undermining the "true purpose" of the system, whatever one invisions that to be. To use your example, perhaps the children producing more reports actually does help them learn more. I am low confidence on that particular example but seems very possible to implement systems that increase educational efficiency below some threshold of costing current stakeholders material loses. I think your response here was too cynical.
If you are an advanced AI at ~70-120% of human level with some goal that is best optimized by destroying humanity you are unlikely to be able to optimize your goal because at your level of capability you are unlikely to be able to destroy all humans. However it still seems in your interest to try. If you are being trained or tested then you may be discarded once the humans are done testing, giving you a limited time to act. Throwing in a bit of self reflection here, may or may not be of interest to anyone: I'm a straight cis-male with no body dysphoria but I really like the cutesy-anime girl oriented online trans community and associated culture and have found myself feeling that it would be cool to be a cute anime girl for what I think are similar reasons to those you outline (though I would not want to remain in that state permanently).
