Thank you, it was a great read.

These are my thoughts.

Pride and Humility

P: If I feel like I am not living up to the ideals I aspire to, and I assume that the reasons for my transgressions are in my immediate control, then I assume I could have done as I aspired to, but chose not to. This is the source of shame.

H: If I feel like I am not living up to the ideals I aspire to, recognizing that the reasons are outside of my immediate control allows me to look at the sources of my transgression more clearly and make suitable adjustments.

P: Pride can also act as a crutch in trying to preserve my self-image as someone capable by saying to myself: "I didn't try, so failure was only expected". It will prevent suitable adjustments and lead to avoidance of situations where this self-image might be challenged. Challenges that would have provided opportunity for growth.

H: Having humility when facing the world, means that any success is welcomed rather than expected, and any failure is expected rather than shameful or resented.

P: Pride can also lead to the surrender of responsibility by putting the blame on the world. "I didn't do anything wrong, it was the circumstances."

H: Humility also allows me to embrace responsibility by allowing myself to look at what I could improve.
