Type 1 processes provide judgments quickly, but these judgments are often wrong, and can be overridden by corrective Type 2 processes.
This might be the picking-on-small-details-and-feeling-important me, but I really think this is terribly oversimplified. It implies that Type 1 is basically your enemy, or that is what it feels like to me. Truth to be told, Type 1 is extremely handy to you as it prevents combinatorial explosion in how you experience reality. I think Type 1 is actually mostly great, because I am really happy that I just pick up a cup when I am making myself a coffee and I don't spend 30 minutes analysing which cup has a picture...
