The rate of change has gone through the roof. It took more than 10 years from advent of internet to today's ubiquitous and thriving digital economy. Yet, in less than 4 years. AI has changed the paradigm of how we use our devices. From being a fringe tech used for niche scenarios. Today it has become one of the primary digital interaction for many.
With evolving capabilities, a future where natural language becomes the primary interface to the digital realm is very much a possibility. It's surreal to be living in the "sci-fi" age.
The concern we should have is around ethics of the people sponsoring this tremendous technology. In right hands, it frees men from labour. In wrong hands, it frees reliance on "workers" to build out a world where majority of people don't have a place to exist.
I have progressively become happier as a person over the last decade. So much so that my wife and close friends have asked me what changed.
I couldn't quite put to words what was it that I was doing differently. Till I read this passage.
Over the years I stopped avoiding my feelings, and started feeling them. Thinking about the why, what's next. Both when I am down, and when I am up.
That paired with being more present, instead of thinking about distant future, has helped me appreciate so much more of my own life!
