I do think we should take this history into account when people say that it's impossible to ban the training and use of LLMs and other generative models. And given the widespread backlash against this technology, the only rational thing to do would be to work together to begin working on such an international agreement. And, similar to Reagan and CFCs, Trump will not be here forever and we need to start planning for the post-Trump world.
