The host has requested RSVPs for this event

Join us for our intro to effective altruism meetup on the first Saturday of each month!

The purpose of our monthly meetups is

to increase understanding of Effective Altruism ideas among interested people in the Houston area

to welcome newcomers to the Houston Effective Altruism community

to foster connections and relationships among like-minded individuals.

Event format and structure:

Our friendly host will welcome everyone, share announcements, and give an explanation

The host will give a 10-20 minute presentation explaining the effective altruism movement and our Houston Effective Altruism community

After the presentation, the host will start a group discussion by posing a thought-provoking question for everyone to answer. We'll sit in a circle and have a free-flowing conversation.

The host will keep the discussion going by asking more questions as needed for about 30-40 minutes.

At around 1:50pm, the host will wrap up the group discussion and ask for feedback. Starting at 2pm, we will have our weekly hangout event, during which you're welcome to stay and take part in a less formal discussion and mingle with other attendees.

We hope to see you at our next event!
