Are there too many of us? Too many mouths to feed on one planet, too many luxuries demanded of finite resources? Are there too few of us? Too few minds tackling our biggest challenges, too few lives lived worth living? Is a hypothetical future life even worth living? The tension of these open questions runs through our society, but we too often fail to tackle these questions with clear or rigorous thinking.
These questions aren't just philosophical matters either, they're grounded in the economic reality faced by many developed nations undergoing demographic collapse.
EA Miami will be discussing the topic of depopulation, and we'll invite you to share your strong (but respectful) opinions if you have them. If you'd like to read more check out this debate on the EA Forum.
There will be lots of room for discussion and questions so please feel free to join and participate! No prior knowledge is needed, and we encourage you to attend if you feel uncertain.
When: Saturday, August 16 from 1-3:30 p.m.
Where: Coconut Grove Branch Library @ 2875 McFarlane Rd, Miami, FL 33133
