At our most recent AI workshop we brought up the possibility of AI sentience and moral responsibilities that might entail, but we didn't get time to fully discuss it! This month's meeting will be about the concept of suffering risks like trillions of sentient AI agents experiencing misery, the philosophical perspective on suffering vs hedonism, and criticisms of Effective Altruism's focus on suffering as a metric to optimize away.

There will be lots of room for discussion and questions so please feel free to join and participate! No prior knowledge is needed, and we encourage you to attend if you feel uncertain.
