Greetings, HaliRats! We will be meeting at the Oxford Taproom for coffee and/or drinks and general discussion. The topic will be insular high-fertility subcultures, e.g. the Amish or Hasidic Jews. What is their way of life like? How have they maintained it in the face of modernity? Is there anything we can learn from them? Will they eventually take over the world? All these questions and more will be discussed. (Non-obligatory) article reading list:
