Topic: Peter Norvig: On Chomsky and the Two Cultures of Statistical Learning.  Link: http://norvig.com/chomsky.html.  Chomsky's article: https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2012/11/noam-chomsky-on-where-artificial-intelligence-went-wrong/261637/?single_page=true.  Additional reading: https://www.princeton.edu/~wbialek/rome/refs/pereira_00.pdf.  Even more in the Discord!

Please come even if you think you wouldn't fit in, don't consider yourself a "meetup" person, or think a wine bar is a stuffy environment (it's very casual; no need to order drinks or anything).  Multiple people who are now regulars had similar misgivings but found themselves having a good time!

Location: Magical Rationalist Lyrical GroupHouse! Formerly known as Three and a Quarter. (1447 26th Street, #A, Santa Monica, CA 90404).

Time: 7 pm (January 29th)

Parking: There is no street parking on 26th (it is permit only), but there should be free metered parking on both Santa Monica and Broadway.  The nearest metro station is 26th St/Bergamot, which is less than a 10-minute walk from the house.  If you are coming from e.g. Westwood, there are multiple buses that stop nearby, including the 1 and the 2.

Contact: The best way to contact me (or anybody else who is attending the meetup) is through our Discord.  Feel free to message me (T3t) directly.  Invitation link: https://discord.gg/TaYjsvN
