The LessWrong Annual Review is underway. Raymond Arnold of the LessWrong team has a request: First, to cast some votes and write some reviews on what posts were valuable from 2023. Second, to publicly reflect on the intellectual progress seems important or how incentives could be different on LessWrong. https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/pudQtkre7f9GLmb2b/the-2023-lesswrong-review-the-basic-ask
So lets do that.

Here's the plan:

2:00-2:15: Introducing ourselves and talking about what we look for in a LessWrong article.
2:15-2:45: Pull up LessWrong and chat as we vote or write reviews. I think it'd be fun to send posts at each other, in a "hey you said you like productivity advice right? Take a look at this one, it's not my cup of tea but it sounds like it might be yours."
2:25-3:00: If you wrote something on LessWrong you think was good in 2023, I'd like to give you the floor to pitch your essay at the rest of us! Then we'll take a break to let everyone stretch.
3:00-3:30: Take half an hour to talk about the progress that's important to you, how you wish incentives were different on LessWrong, and how the LessWrong and X-Risk communities could make group progress on longstanding questions. Write as you go, with the intent to have a draft post to answer the public part of the Ray's request. If you're up for it, share your draft with the group for comment.
3:30-onward: Open discussion. Talk about LessWrong posts, talk about a book you've read recently, organize an impromptu solstice caroling, it's open socializing!
