Join the Bremen rationality crew in August to learn & practice a powerful approach to tackling disagreements!
What is this meetup about? Double Crux is a method for making disagreements more productive by working together to uncover the core beliefs driving your differing views. Instead of debating to win, the goal is to understand each other’s reasoning and figure out what evidence might change your minds.
We’ll start by introducing the Double Crux technique, then pair up to practice with real disagreements. This is a great opportunity to refine your reasoning skills, engage in meaningful discussions, and gain new insights into your own beliefs.
📅 Date: August 17 (Sunday) , 3–6 PM (we might finish earlier but better block 3h in your calendar)
What will we do?
Learn the basics of Double Crux.
Break into pairs to work through actual disagreements.
Practice identifying the cruxes of your beliefs (the key points that make or break your argument).
💡 What do you need? We’ll provide a list of suggested statements people might disagree on, but feel free to bring a topic of your own!
This session is all about collaboration, curiosity, and improving how we navigate disagreements. It’s not about winning arguments—it’s about understanding each other better.
❗️ Please RSVP so we can book the space accordingly!
