Cool. I've been wondering what the reference behind the double name "Verres-Evans" for Harry's (second) parents in HPMoR was. Seems well-chosen.

Evans was the maiden name of Harry's biological mother in the book. Lily and Petunia Evans. I don't know how much thought was put into the name Verres.

Ah right, I forgot about that. The similarity between "Watt" and "Verres" might just be a coincidence too then.

I believe EY mentioned somewhere that 'Verres' was a composite of Herreshoff and Vassar.
