I am very interested in this.
* Exactly what is repugnant about utilitarianism? (Moi, I find that it leads to favoring torture over 3^^^3 specks, which is beyond facepalming; I'd like to hear your view.)
* I guess the moral assumptions based on which you condem utilitarianism are the same you would propose instead. What moral theory do you espouse?
Being someone who accepts Stirner's arguments, I reject the Wheel in the Head that I was born with the status of a slave to the interests of all people everywhere for all time.
But moreover, even within the context of the usual moral sentiments, I reject the fetishization of universalism uber alles that leads to the repugnant conclusions versus the rest of our moral sentiments. I don't have an infinite amount of give a shit to spread around, and neither do you, and the thinner we spread it, the more we're using it on speculation on events further from us and our knowledge and power and the less effectively we're using it.
