We propose a hypercomplex simulation hypothesis — the idea that reality itself is a vast simulation exploring infinite combinations of life forms, perceptual systems, structures, and consciousnesses. This framework synthesizes insights from quantum physics, theories of consciousness, simulated reality arguments, philosophy of mind, and biology. Drawing on Everett’s many-worlds interpretation (quantum branching of realities), Tegmark’s mathematical universe hypothesis (reality as an abstract mathematical structure), and Lloyd’s view of the cosmos as a quantum computer, we posit a universe that inherently generates myriad possible worlds. In parallel, we incorporate Tononi’s Integrated Information Theory (consciousness as integrated information) and Friston’s Free Energy Principle (life as minimizing surprise) to ground the role of consciousness in this cosmic experiment. Classical arguments for simulated reality (Bostrom’s simulation argument, Zuse’s Rechnender Raum) and perspectives from philosophy of mind (Chalmers’ virtual reality realism, Metzinger’s self-model theory) further bolster the hypothesis that life and mind are designed exploratory avatars within a grand informational multiverse. The implications are sweeping: intelligence, evolution, and perception may require redefinition; consciousness might be fundamental rather than epiphenomenal; human–animal hierarchies become obsolete under a view of species as equal participants in a simulation; and suffering, agency, and purpose take on new meaning. We outline potential avenues for indirect validation of this hypothesis — ranging from artificial life simulations and AI consciousness experiments to detecting convergent patterns in biology — and address major objections (falsifiability, materialist critiques, philosophical counter-arguments). While not empirically confirmed, the hypercomplex simulation hypothesis offers a unifying, interdisciplinary paradigm. It aims not for immediate proof but for an expanded intellectual synthesis connecting cosmology, biology, andconsciousness studies in a coherent theoretical framework.
