The Zizian concerns are subject to active legal proceedings so I don't want to get into the details of the case.  Everybody is entitled to the presumption of innocence and due process before the law.

On the other hand, we have facts that some people were injured and some people are dead.

It seems to be an agreed fact that participants in the Zizian group are transgender.

For many years now, in just about every online space, we've seen incredibly defensive behavior by transgender participants.

Calling this behavior "defensive" is actually an understatement.  In many spaces, people have told me that they are terrified to contradict a transgender person because anybody who contradicts those people is also accused of transphobia.

When the most recent news appeared about Zizian, I published a blog post about the similarities in open source transgender groups and the Zizian group.  The blog post appeared in search results for a couple of hours and then it vanished.

I don't want to encourage speculation about individual characters in any group.  On the other hand, I feel that comparison of the tactics is vital in understanding the risks of social engineering.
