Is it possible to convert back and forth? I find the Markdown editor more annoying for the most part, and last time I used it, it was hard to upload images with it.

yes, for most post types. I think there are some things where it doesn't convert properly. I default to markdown though, I only use the switch when I need to insert footnotes, so I don't know off the top of my head what's missing.

I tried doing this and it works, but you also lose all of the benefits of the WYSIWYG editor like nice image captions. If I link an image and then switch back to WYSIWYG the image link goes away.
