Hi everyone, I’m an engineering student and I’ve spent a lot of time lately trying to fix a "bug" in my own head. Every time I thought about mind uploading or cloning, I felt a deep sense of strangeness that I couldn't quite name.
I realized that we often confuse "data" with "experience". I’ve put together a physical model—I call it the Equation of the Self—to explain why a perfect atomic copy of you is just a high-end impostor, and why the "support" matters just as much as the "file". I also explore the "failure scenarios" where the film burns out or the spectator vanishes.
I'm looking for some rigorous feedback on the logic, especially on my "Gradual Relocation" hypothesis
