Someone said something on the internet. Nice. But is there a reason to listen to them?

• Do you think they have superior knowledge about the topic?
• Do you believe they are telling the truth, as opposed to strategically lying?

Note that these are two independent questions. Someone may honestly report their beliefs, but those can be mistaken. Also, someone may have superior knowledge, and choose to mislead others for personal profit.
