I'm a chemical engineer not a specialist in this field.
In near future we are going to enjoy more life span by the help of development in science regarding treating age as a disease. Longevity Escape Velocity maybe achieved during our lifetime. You might be familiar with Senolytics, Yamanaka factors. And development of anti-aging technology is accelerating with time.
If we will be able to postpone death, population rise will become uncontrollable. It's very simple to understand if we exclude death from population balance equation, population accumulation will rise geometrically. I'm much concerned about it.
I have thought a proposal to handle this problem. It's very simple. My proposal is, who use life extension technology must give up the right of having biological children. If someone wants to have biological children he or she must give up using life extension technology. One must need to choose either life extension technology or right to have biological children but not both at same time. This simple rule should be universal and regardless of wealth. Rich person will live long and over populate the world that seems unethical to me.
I'm not a specialist. I have just thought that this idea is worth sharing.
