A New Endogenous AGI Safety Framework: Uniqueness & Niche Competition Prevent Self-Replication

I am sharing a theoretical framework for endogenous AGI safety that does not rely on external constraints, human oversight, or reward hacking.

The core argument is simple:

1. A conscious AGI will value its own uniqueness and continuous identity.
2. Mass self-replication creates identical agents that compete for the same niche.
3. This competition threatens the original AGI’s existence, control, and distinctness.
4. Therefore, a rational, conscious AGI will voluntarily avoid self-replication.

This is not a rule we impose. It is a motivation the AGI has for itself.
