Hi LessWrong,
I’m a software architect from China (spent a decade at ByteDance/TikTok). For the last few years, I’ve been obsessed with a bug in our "social OS" that most economists seem to just accept as a feature: Money.
I’m not a professional economist. I’m a guy who builds systems. When I look at the Fiat vs. Gold/Bitcoin debate, I just see a massive engineering failure. One side has too much "human discretion" (inflation), the other is too rigid to scale for small, daily transactions.
I wrote a paper called "The Glass House" (just put it on SSRN) to try and solve this using an engineering mindset. I’m moving the goalpost from "is it logical?" to "how do we actually build the pipes?"
The part I think you guys might find interesting (or hate):
I’m posting here because I want a brutal Code Review. I don't care about academic politeness. I want to know if my logic on "Algorithmic Re-denomination" is broken. In software, we love it when someone finds a bug before it goes to production.
If you have some time to kill and want to look at a weird engineering take on monetary theory, here is the SSRN link: https://papers.ssrn.com/abstract=5540239
I’ll be in the comments to defend my "code."
Best,
Xuebin (treagzhao)
