I wrote an new essay on why space programs use polar bases as simulation and training grounds for deep space missions and extraterrestrial bases, and why they select only candidates who are emotionally suppressive, introverted, agreeable, and hardworking.

East Asians inhabited polar climate regions of Siberia during the Ice Age, and just so happens to have the same exact personality complex best suited for polar base living- and thus analogously for deep space missions. I show genomic data of polygenic scores linked to a few of these core traits and confirm that is the highest in East Asians and a few other populations (Papuans, Siberians, Sherpas, Finns, etc). I predict that in a fully fledged Space Age, East Asians and these groups will make up the majority of spacecraft and Mars base staff, and discuss the implications.
