Tldr: I'm building an Internet using mesh core or meshtastic. At least, I'm plugging into the already existing ones. But I'm going to be making it so there are no bad spots, and I'm gonna make it so that you can still access Wikipedia and a chat/comms app, even if the Internet goes down.
Also, I'm building off grid permanent housing. I already bought the solar, batteries, food, wood, everything.
Ok so basically i think AI near term risks are cyber security and bio terrorism. I think someone will jail break a Claude and it'll accidentally take out the cloud. Or parts of it. Or render it unusable for some time. I'm making a secondary Internet, low power, unhackable (or at least harder to hack) low bandwidth. Keeping the necessities of text chat and Wikipedia. But nothing else. I'm running it on meshcore or meshtastic. Probably meshcore. I will be handing out USBs with only text Wikipedia to anyone that needs it. I will be installing repeaters and Wi-Fi bridges powered by solar all over the GTA region. The project is complicated. I can get into it more if you'd like to join me. Basically, there will be servers hosting Wikipedia and chat apps, that are connected to each other over mesh core. Or similar. You'll still be able to text and access Wikipedia as long as you have power on your phone. Also, as long as meshcore is good enough to connect everyone.
Otherwise I'm building off grid for the other risk, bio terrorism. I got everything I mentioned before. And other stuff bandages, compass, binoculars, hunting Gear, farming gear, tools. Everything needed for off grid and other shtf scenarios. No property yet. Can't afford anything in this expensive ass province.
