Meet inside The Shops at Waterloo Town Square - we will congregate in the indoor seating area next to the Your Independent Grocer with the trees sticking out in the middle of the benches (pic) at 7:00 pm for 15 minutes, and then head over to my nearby apartment's amenity room. If you've been around a few times, feel free to meet up at the front door of the apartment at 7:30 instead.
Claude Sonnet 4.5 is out! The first sentence of Anthropic's announcement is "Claude Sonnet 4.5 is the best coding model in the world." We shall see how good it is.
Bring your laptops, we'll get you set up fairly quickly, and then spend 2 hours on vibe coding before we share with the class (either what you came up with or what blockers you ran into). I'll provide all the API tokens necessary and a web page you can probably host simple things on. (I see more complicated apps on Vercel, but I cannot help you there.)
In terms of prep, I think I'd prefer for attendees to not read anything about vibe coding best practices or whatever and go in blind, so we can get a good feel for how intuitive it actually is to vibe code with Sonnet 4.5.
But it could be useful to come with a few ideas of what you want to possibly vibe code. In the discord, we can maybe throw some ideas collectively into a thread.
