The host has requested RSVPs for this event

We're the regular Northampton area meetup for ACX readers and (as far as I know) the only rationalist or EA community gathering in the Pioneer Valley so far.

We started as part of the 2018 ACX Meetups Everywhere international event, and are still going strong. At most meetups we get about 4-7 people out of a rotation of 15-20, with a nice mix of regular faces, people who only drop in once in a while, and occasionally total newcomers.

I aim to have us meeting every 2 weeks or so but at the moment it's running closer to once a month.

There's no "format" or suggested readings. Although it's not rare for us to touch on ACX articles and related topics, the conversation varies wildly, and you are welcome even if you're the most occasional ACX reader (or just interested in rationalism in general, or even just related topics like EA).

This time we're meeting at Packard's, which has become the favorite/default option. As usual, we've reserved the Library Room in the back.

We currently communicate via an email list; feel free to email me at alex@alexliebowitz.com to stay in the loop.

Look forward to meeting you!

Will there be a last meetup before the year-end? Like just before Christmas or something

Hi Aditya,

Sorry, I missed this when you first posted it. The next meetup I tried to set up was in January, but for whatever reason there's been a dip in interest lately (2-3 RSVPs per meetup vs. the usual 4-7) so I haven't set up any actual meetups so far since this one. The next one I'm planning to hold is with the next of Scott's biannual Meetups Everywhere events, which normally get a few more people and I'm hoping between that and the pent-up desire for a meetup after not having any for a few months, we should at least get the usual 4-7. The next Meetups Everywhere event should be in April (the Spring edition has been in April every time that I can remember).

If you want to stay in the loop for the planning process, feel free to email me at alex@alexliebowitz.com and I'll put you on the mailing list. Just let me know if you want to be a CC or a BCC. Otherwise you can monitor here on Less Wrong, but in my experience people who try to keep track via the official announcements often miss meetups even if they seemed to be actively interested in coming again.
