This week, we'll be reading some of the works of Peter Singer, one of the forefathers of the effective altruism movement, plus some additional EA commentary. Come prepared to discuss:
the general contents of the readings assigned
how well their arguments match on to the current ideology/ideologies of the effective altruism movement, and if any mismatches are good or bad or a secret third thing
for Singer's pieces, if his own takes have evolved in the 35 years between the two essays
