The post by Robin that Eliezer quotes from here is remarkable to the degree that Robin seems confident that superintelligence is just like any other technology and not likely to lead to a winner-take-all scenario.

It is possible to create a singleton that won't do nasty things. This may be preferable to a scenario in which many agents start competing for resources without any way of securing themselves other than constant defense and deterrence.
