On what skills will be valued in humans:

"If humans compete with AI at solving problems or producing standard answers, humans will have difficulty winning.

But AI still does not possess the ability to proactively ask questions in the same way. How to formulate questions skillfully and how to keep asking follow-up questions are extremely challenging capabilities.

The scarcest capability when using artificial intelligence is not mastery of a particular programming skill. It is the ability to describe and formulate a problem precisely.

That is why people trained in literature and philosophy are increasingly valued."

On China's advantage in AI:

"But when it comes to data, China has industrial applications covering almost every category. We therefore have advantages in data applications, inference applications and application scenarios."

On scaling compute:

"Ms. He Tingbo has proposed what she calls the Tao (τ) Law. At its essence, it replaces geometric scaling with time scaling, tightly integrating areas of process technology and manufacturing that had become separated, and improving competitiveness under constrained conditions."
