I will be visiting the bay area April 17-23. Any chance of catching a meetup in that time? 17-19 I will be mostly busy with work, and would have to travel from Palo Alto after 6 or so, but the rest of the week/weekend I will be free.
Oh, also there might be a monthly Bay Area meetup in Berkeley on the 21st. But I won't be in the Bay Area at that time, so someone else will have the final say on when and where it happens.

And, I'm sure this isn't the best place to ask, but do you think there would be any point in trying to visit the SI house/office?
There used to be a SingInst house that was the place to visit. Now there's Essex House (I don't what it's used for nowadays), maybe an office in San Francisco, and various private residences where SingInst business happens. I encourage you to contact some people in SingInst, let them know you'll be visiting, and ask to talk to them in person.
The Mountain View meetup usually meets on Tuesdays. They aren't announced on Less Wrong; instead you should sign up for the private mailing list. There might also be a Berkeley meetup on Wednesday the 18th.
