I've just noticed that the number of votes shown on my recent alignment forum post seems to actually correspond to the number of votes it's received on Less Wrong, rather than just counting the alignment forum votes. Not sure if this is intentional, but for me it makes the feature less useful. Not a priority though.

This is now in our issue tracker here.

Fixed link here.

Yep, that seems like a bug. It requires some minor changes in architecture to fix, so it might take a bit longer than the smallest bugs.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. Other issues along these lines:

  • When using the Alignment Forum interface for adding posts to a sequence, it shows the LessWrong karma for the post.
  • The "Move to Alignment Forum" button works for comments but does not work for posts.

Oh, the second one seems important. Will fix that ASAP.

The first one makes sense, and should be relatively easy to fix, though it might require resyncing our search database.

Similarly the table of contents on the Alignment Forum displays the number of LW comments.

Oh, another one is that Alignment Forum notifications don't work (but the LW ones do so it's fine). Yes, I did check my notification settings on my profile.

You can get around the second issue (if you're the author of the post) by editing and clicking the "Alignment Forum" checkbox.

(Why do I need to move my own posts to the Alignment Forum? Turns out the crossposting of the newsletter only goes to LessWrong, not the Alignment Forum.)
