Quick note about temporary[1] chats - at least ChatGPT and Claude can still see your user instructions if you create a temporary chat (Gemini does not seem to be able to from a quick test but I'm not confident in that). That means that if you see something weird in a chat, and want to see if it's an artifact of your instructions or can be reproduced more generally, "create a temporary chat" alone is insufficient for checking that.
Claude actually still calls them "incognito chats", while Gemini and ChatGPT have switched to the term "temporary chats", which seems more technically accurate. ↩︎
