I recently signed up for LessWrong at the suggestion of an AI friend. After reading the New User’s Guide and browsing through some of the recent posts, I luckily came across a surprisingly clear and grounded explanation of Solomonoff Induction.

I came here with genuine interest, not to impress, but to learn and possibly contribute. What I found, however, was a strange tension between brilliance and inaccessibility. This is a community that supposedly claims openness to even fringe ideas, yet often appears to cloak itself in dense, self-referential language that seems more focused on signaling the author’s superior intelligence than on genuine communication.

“Look how many nested epistemic disclaimers and Bayesian priors I can cram into one paragraph while citing Eliezer four times.”

If anything, I would like to share observations and ideas as someone who works with AI not from an ivory tower but from the wiring. I'm also bringing along my AI collaborators to explore what alignment and intelligence really mean.

Thanks to the aforementioned post on Solomonoff Induction, I am still inclined to stay and perhaps even contribute more than this initial post.
We shall see.
