Having just finished reading IABIED (and liking it more than I expected, given that I’ve already read much of Yud and Nate’s work), I found its focus on the object-level very refreshing and understand why it was so impactful. I think people can tell when you’re patronizing them.
(Yud and Nate do sound kinda patronizing in the book—the parables are, uh, an interesting choice, even if I liked many of them—but not really in a ”talking down” way. It’s hard to explain.)
