I don't think this amounts to "discussing", more like alluding. I doubt anyone who wasn't already familiar with the concept of self-improving AI will even understand what the comic is supposed to be about.
I sort of like (not necessarily agreeing with - I don't think I care much one way or another) that people are finally voting en-mass to try and negate the "oh, someone's going to post this, I might as well get the free karma" thing)
