If you have opted out, the button poses no danger. After you press the button, you need to enter launch codes and press a second "launch" button. If you've opted out, you can never press "launch"

I'd like to note that my "opt out of Petrov day" checkbox has not been removed from my user settings, contrary to what I had expected based on your previous post.
You can remove the button by waiting until tomorrow.
I have opted out of Petrov day. I'd like to remove the button, too, to decrease the chance that I press it (even by accident).
I can just use my adblocker or browser tools, but that's a non-trivial solution since I use quite a few devices.
