Sleep

Edited by August Morley last updated 24th Aug 2025

The biological requirement for sleep is not well understood, but is generally known to be a critical component of both physical and mental health. As such, the quality and restfulness of a given period of sleep is a frequent target for optimization.

Sleep is also a frequent target of minimization.  Through behavioral and/or chemical means, individuals hope to achieve the same rest and health benefits of a nominal nights sleep in a much shorter period of time.
